Campaign materials for global advocacy: Free Assange

Campaign posters, flyers, billboards, memes, infographics and more

Over 14 years, I contributed thousands of original designs to the global Free Assange movement — from posters, banners, and viral memes to mobile billboards.

The approach was grassroots-first: materials were designed for ease of use, quick replication, and strong recognisability. One of the most iconic images — Julian Assange’s face with a US flag gag — became a visual signature of the campaign, widely shared and translated globally. The design maintained a consistent visual language of strength, seriousness, and urgency, avoiding abstraction in favour of bold clarity.

Design became a powerful tool for organizing and a shield against silence. Collaborating with campaigners across continents, I supported everything from street posters to press packs to infographics — always responding fast and adapting to current events.

Below you’ll find many images from the campaign. These showcase a selection from literally thousands of original designs created over the years.
