A bold visual identity for a bold book. Published by Monash University Press, A Secret Australia: Revealed by the WikiLeaks Exposés features essays from journalists, lawyers, and advocates unpacking the significance of WikiLeaks’ revelations.
The cover design is stark: a blacked-out background sets the stage for a shaft of light streaming from an open vault door marked “top secret.” Standing in the doorway is the WikiLeaks logo — a symbol of exposure breaking through institutional secrecy. The image evokes tension, courage, and the moment of revelation. It was inspired by a wallpaper image created many years ago.
This visual identity was extended into a suite of social media assets, preserving the stark contrast and typographic boldness to maintain impact across fast-moving feeds.
